Noise is one of the most common environmental pollutant and widely occurring health hazard in industrial workplaces. This training will make employees aware of the risks working with noise can cause.

Hearing conservation course focuses on prevention of injury by wearing the protective equipment required for specific job. Wearing the correct hearing protection can prevent permanent damage to hearing and reduce injury at your workplace.

Objectives:

Hearing Conservation Course is designed to teach participants how to demonstrate an understanding of:

  • What is occupational noise.
  • Measurements of sound.
  • The mechanism of hearing.
  • Purpose, advantages, and disadvantages of various types of hearing protectors.
  • Selection, fit and care of hearing protectors.
  • Purpose and procedures of audiometric testing.

 

Scope:

This course covers:

  • Effects of noise.
  • Dealing with noise.
  • Noise characteristics.
  • Hearing protectors.
  • Audiometric testing.

 

Target Audience:

All staff regularly expose to noise.

 

Test:

A multiple-choice test is administered at the conclusion of the program. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.

 

 

Course Materials:

All participants are issued a Training Manual (Student Guide).

Course Completion Certificate:

Program participants who successfully complete the course are issued a certificate of completion.
